Baby Girl

Good Evening All,

A friend recently had a baby girl on Christmas Day, so it was time to dig past the Christmas Stash and find something to make a Baby Card with.  Here is what I ended up with.

The stamps were from See D's and I coloured in the images with my Promarkers (sorry for the poor image, had to take it with my phone as I couldn't find my camera anywhere)

I also found out today that a work colleague of mine wife has also given birth to a baby girl so expect to see another baby card in the next few days.

I like to make baby blankets for any newborns so keep an eye out for them as well.

Happy Belated Birthday Mum

Good Afternoon,

I hope everybody had a good Christmas and have recovered from all the festivities.  It was my Mums birthday on Christmas Eve, but I forgot to take a photo of her card and present before I gave them to her.

Supplies Used:
SEI backing paper
Pink Petticoat image
Promarkers
Prima Flowers

For present I made her a handbag, the pattern was the highbrow hobo from Handblog.

I was lucky enough to get lots of new promarkers for my Christmas, so I will be back with a card I made earlier today.

A bit of a delay

A while back I posted this card which I made as a thank you to my Sister's Mother in Law for loaning me her sewing machine.  I also made her a bag as a thank you present, unfortunately I never got round to posting a picture of it, so here it is.

Hopefully she likes the gift, and once more Thank You very much Fiona.

Good Luck

Recently my hairdresser and her colleague opened their own salon, so I decided to make them a good luck card for them in their new business.

Supplies used:
Digistamp - C.C Designs - Hairdresser Honey
Bacing papers - Nitwits
Promarkers
Ribbon and flower I found in my stash.

I have decided to submit this card into the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, the current challenge is 'Anything Goes'.

Just One Word

The current challenge over at Less Is More is 'Just One Word'.  I decided to make a baby card, haven't done one for a while and it was nice to use some pastel colours for a change.

It is a very simple card, but I don't like to make baby cards over complicated, just nice colours and clean lines, but that is just my personal opinion.

Happy Birthday Jamie

It is my Fiancée's birthday today. So Happy Birthday Jamie!

I thought I would share with you all his birthday card and my attempt at baking with you all.

As you can probably guess from the card, Jamie enjoys fishing, so when I seen this digistamp from DigiStamp Boutique I thought it would be perfect.  The backing spotty paper is from Pink Petticoat.

I decided this year not to buy a birthday cake for Jamie but to make a selection of his favourite cakes & cookies.

Since Jamie was working the day before his birthday I got everything set up the day before, to make sure he didn't walk into the room  I made up a no entry sign for the dining room door.

Our plans for today is to head into Aberdeen, go for a nice meal and have some cocktails.

I will be back tomorrow with my Mums birthday card (yes it is a busy few days for me)

Thank You

It is coming to that time of year again when we have to write thank you cards for any number of reasons, it could be for a wonderful present, for hosting the Christmas day lunch, or just for helping out at a busy and stressful time of year.

Since the challenge this month over at Get Funky is to create a thank you card I thought I would make a head start. I decided to use their Funky Freebie as the colours were so nice and bright and it made a nice change from Chirstmas colours.

Supplies Used:
Pale blue cardstock
Purple cardstock
Funky Hand - Funky Freebie
Pink Petticoat backing paper - Swirls & Curls
Ribbon - from my own stash

To create my ruffled ribbon, I sewed a long gathering stitch down the middle and pulled either ends of the thread to create my ruffle.

I am sure I will have a few more thank you cards to make over the next month so I will show you what else I have created.

Music

Good Morning,

The challenge this week over at Less Is More is 'Music'.  I don't really have a lot of things in my stash that I could use for Music apart from a cute stamp of carol singers, but I was wanting to stay away from Christmas Cards this week.  So I spent my 3 hours in the hairdresser thinking up song lyrics that could work on a card.  I finally settled on this one!

The lyrics are from Coldplays 'Yellow' I think the lyrics are beautiful and could be used for any type of card.  I printed out the lyrics from my computer and then stamped the stars using pigment ink and heat embossed it with a black sparkle embossing powder. I matted the white card with black vinyl and mounted it onto a black shimmer card.

Over at CAS-ual Friday the challenge was for a co-ordinating card and envelope, so I used the same stamp to create a cluster of stars in the corner and embossed it in the same was as the card.

Snowy Scene

Hi everybody,

How are you all getting on with the organisation for Christmas?  I think I am now completely organised, presents wrapped, cards posted, house decorated etc.  Just counting down the days until I am on holiday from work, can't wait!

I recently bought a stamp from Visable Image and it was such a gorgeous snowy scene that I couldn't wait to get it out of the packaging and make a card with it.

I stamped the image using pigment ink, then sprinkled the image with some white glitter and added some additional glue glitter to the top of the fence posts .  I coloured in the star and house windows with a gold sakura pen.  I thought it would be nice to break up the black and white a little bit.

I have also entered this card into the 'Let it Snow'challenge over at Less Is More.

Christmas Table Centre

After I had made my Mums Chirstmas Bauble Wreath (you can see it here) I had some left over baubles, so I decided to make a table centre for her for Christmas Day.

To create the table centre I used a pillar candle base that I bought in the local supermarket.  I then glue the tops of the baubles to the rim.  Make sure that you glue them on the edge so the candle can easily be removed.

I then glued on some smaller bauble on top of these but left a gap between them so I could add some cinnamon sticks.  I glued 3 cinnamon sticks together and tied a silver trim round them.
The bunches of cinnamon sticks were then glued to the bottom baubles in the spaces I created earlier.

Heres hoping my Mum is pleased with the result.  I noticed the current challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon is 'Gold & Silver' so I have entered this into the challenge.

Snowflakes

Quick post from me this afternoon, the challenge this week over at Less Is More is 'Let It Snow' and it is also a 1 layer card too.

I decided to make a card similar to my last 1 layer card using my Silhouette machine.  I cut out the snowflake, embossed the card using my sizzix snowflake folder and finished it off with a simple sentiment.

Have to get going, got a huge big list of things that need doing today.  Hope everybody has a good weekend.

Another Bauble Wreath

Good Evening,

What a cold, miserable day it has been today! Definitely a night for curling up on the sofa and watching Friday night tv.

I recently made another bauble wreath but never got round to taking any photos of it.

My Mum found these gold and bronze baubles that she loved so I used them to create the wreath in the same way as I showed in this Post.  I added some gold sprayed pine cones to add a change to texture to the wreath.  The colours used a perfect for my Mums colour scheme and thankfully she loves the finished article.

I have a couple more wreaths to make so I will post the pictures of them once they are done.

Christmas Bauble Wreath

Good Morning,

I thought I would share with you another bauble wreath I have made.  My sister asked me to make her one in silvers and white, but I struggled to find white baubles, so I went with silver and black instead.

Hopefully she will like the finished article.  I made the wreath in the same was as the one in my previous Post.

I still have another 3 wreaths to make this week, so I will be back to show you how they come out.

Another Christmas Card

Good Evening,

Hope you are all doing well, we had our first bit of snow yesterday, nothing to get too excited about, but helps with the Christmas feeling!
I had a rather successful day today, as managed to get the last of my Christmas Shopping and everything is wrapped up already!

I am still a few cards short this year so I sat down to try and get a couple of out the way.  Since at both Less Is More and CAS-ual Fridays the theme was 'Green' I tried to incorporate this into my design, as you will see it is pretty hard to miss!

I cut out my sentiment using my Silhouette/CraftRobo machine and used my Martha Stewart Scallop punch for along the bottom.

Once I had finished it I felt it was a bit too green, so a added a few red sparkles (hopefully that is allowed) I think it gives it a better finish.

Just got to write some Christmas Cards, so away to make a start on that with some Christmas tunes to get me in the mood.

Christmas Wreath

Good Afternoon,

Hope everybody is having a relaxing weekend.  The challenge this week over at Less is More is 'Green'.  Now since I have not finished my Christmas cards for the year I thought this would be the ideal chance to get another one crossed off the list.

This card was made using the following
Wreath Image - Mel Jen Designs
Sentiment - Pink Petticoat
Promarkers
Anita Gems
All the card was from my stash.

Hope you like it, I am quite pleased how it came out.  I am away to go and have a look at all the other amazing entries.

With Love

Hello,

I was working on a subway art canvas last night using my Silouhette machine and while having a play about I found this really cute border that I thought would look lovely on a card.

I have kept the card really simply, as I think it emphasises the flowers of the border and the sentiment, to finish it off I attached a couple of bits of sparkle to the flower border to jazz it up a little bit.

I have also entered this card into the Less Is More Challenge, as once I had finished it I thought it might be suitable.
